Our Brand
The name holds deep meaning. “Gran” honors the great tequila masters whose hands and hearts have shaped the craft for generations.
“Casalá” is inspired by the Casalá flower (Commelina dianthifolia), a delicate yet resilient bloom found near agave fields in Tequila, Jalisco.
Known for its upward-reaching form, the flower reflects a core belief that defines everything we do:
Always Ascending.
Our Roots
That spirit led us to the highlands of Jalisco, where volcanic soil and time-honored tradition give rise to the world’s finest blue agave. It’s here that Don Mariano, a fourth-generation master distiller, continues his family’s legacy with devoted dedication. His knowledge – passed down through decades – is the foundation of Gran Casalá.
The People Behind the Liquid
Don Mariano is a fourth-generation master distiller, continuing a family tradition rooted in patience and experience.
The tequila is made by Vidal Rivera, who has worked alongside Don Mariano for more than 20 years, overseeing daily production at the distillery.
Their focus is the liquid itself, batch after batch, without shortcuts.
Our Process
Every expression of Gran Casalá is additive-free, slow-crafted with patience and purpose. From hand-harvested agave to natural fermentation and double distillation, every step is guided by integrity – not shortcuts.
